Deana Marcum is the Human Resources Manager at Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia, Inc. (TMMWV) in Buffalo, WV. The plant, which spans 2 million square feet and employs around 2,200 team members, manufactures 4-cylinder engines for Lexus NX and RAV4, as well as 2.4L turbo engines for Lexus RX and Highlander. Additionally, the plant produces 6-speed automatic transmissions for Highlander and Lexus ES, along with hybrid transmissions for Highlander, Sienna, Lexus RX, and Lexus NX.
Deana has more than 19 years of experience at Toyota, having started her career in 2005 as an Accounting Analyst. She transitioned to Human Resources as Manager in 2012. Throughout her career, her responsibilities have included financial reporting, budgeting, compensation, benefits, payroll, communications, diversity initiatives, staffing, training, special projects, and community outreach.
Before joining Toyota, Deana held accounting and human resources roles at American Alloys, Ravenswood Aluminum, and Pechiney Rolled Products.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, both from West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV.
Deana is an active community member, serving on the Ben Franklin Career Center Advisory Board and the Putnam Career & Technical Center Advisory Board for their 4T program. A lifelong West Virginia native, she lives in Point Pleasant, WV, with her husband of 31 years, Lewis. They are navigating life with their college-aged children, Danielle, who attends Middle Tennessee State University, and Ethan, a student at Marshall University.
